How to Learn from Magic Moments in your Life
Mood Music: This Magic Moment by Ben E. King
Have you ever been in a situation that felt like magic? You know that moment where you have no expectations for something to effect you, but when it does it hits you like a ton of bricks.
It is prolific, prophetic, and life altering. No matter how many years stand between you and that moment, you never forget it and for a long time you remember it with almost dream like clarity…
Three Things That Define Magic Moments
Three things normally define these kinds of moments.
Firstly, it is serendipitous. You know, when you were supposed to go somewhere with friends, but they bail on you last minute and you go alone or you get lost trying to find something and end up in another location.
These moments usually start out with you in a place or among people that you’d never freely chose.
Next, when the moment happens time stands still. It sounds very cliche, but everything that is external to you and the person/thing that the moment is taking place with stalls, blurs and for all intent and purposes disappears.
Lastly, when the moment has passed you are left confused and a little shaken. Your first reaction to this moment is, “What was that?” because there’s no definition that is easy for such an event.
You are left reeling trying to find a comfortable or familiar category, but you soon realize that there isn’t one. It is a thing that is special and follows you your whole life through.
It is your favorite story to tell and even years away from this event your heart strings are still pulled.
What are Magic Moments
So what exactly are these moments? Most people have heard of or experienced getting lost in someone’s eyes, fireworks during a kiss, or that odd feeling that you have met a stranger before.
I once read a book called Embraced by the Light by Bettie Eadie. In it she entails her near death experience and suggests that we knew the plan for our lives before we even arrived on earth.
I believe this sentiment as well, and I think on rare moments like these magic ones, we remember for the briefest interval of time something about the plan God has for our lives. It is this clicking sensation where we know that this thing was supposed to happen at the exact time it did.
Magic Moments are Designed to Teach
Magic Moments, are designed to teach us a greater lesson. You may find this absurd and ask yourself what getting lost in someone eyes has to do with the grand scheme of things.
The answer is not a face value thing. It is more like your Higher Self saying to another person, “I recognize your soul, I’ve met you before, and your presence in my life was planned.”
It doesn’t always mean that you will be with a person forever. It sometimes simply means that this person or even a job or social club was designed to teach you one of the greatest lessons of your life.
What to do when you Recognize a Magic Moment
The best thing to do when a Magic Moment come your way, is to enjoy it as it transpires and learn from it as it goes.
These aren’t moments that you go and chase. Magic Moments are just natural occurrences that impact and impart you with a great gift.
Your responsibility is not to become attached to the person or thing you share these moments with, but rather attach yourself to the lesson learned.
Life can be a beautiful garden blossoming all matter of surprises if you make yourself available to them.
Who knows, your magic moment might be seconds away.
