Daily Devotional – Permission
“It is better to be asked in, than asked out,” a lesson we all learned from motherly wisdom. This often-heard cliché basically means, wait to be given permission to join into things rather than jumping in at your own accord. When someone gives us permission to help with a task or offer an opinion, we have a different level of freedom than if we invite ourselves into situations unsolicited.
Permission basically gives us power to radically change situations of others, hopefully for the better. God is a God of permission. In heaven, He has so many miracles stored up for you, but He needs your permission to release them into your life.
Often times, before God did a great miracle in the scriptures, He would appear to people like Mary, Moses, and Peter in a dream, vision, or in person to ask for their consent to move in their lives in outstanding ways. Today, prayer is the number one way to give God permission to unlock blessings in your life. In your prayer sessions, invite God to touch any area of your life and watch as the blessings pour in. God is ready to do unfathomable things for you, He just needs your permission.
“So I say to you, ask and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock and it will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks, it will be opened.” Luke 11: 9-10
